If you asked me if Beyblade was a 'Masterpiece' I would say in my eyes yes.
However, if you asked me exactly WHY I liked Beyblade I wouldn't have an answer.
Beyblade is not that great of an anime from an adult or late teens point of view. But, if you grew up on Beyblade like me then no matter how bad it might actually be you might find yourself loving it.
I thought the characters were wonderful, I liked all of them except Doji. I was really into the story, especially when Ryuga came in.
In my opinion, I think Beyblade is a wonderful series and would recommend it to anyone who asked.
However I can understand why people would not like it or give it a low rating.
So if you want to watch it, then it depends really. If you like shows for kids then go for it and if you wanna watch it for enjoyment and stuff go for it!
However if you are very picky about your anime then this might not be for you.

Gingka Hagane[edit]

Voiced by: Aki Kanada (Japanese); Robert Tinkler (English)[1]
Gingka, the protagonist of Metal Fight Beyblade, a beyblader. He doesn’t like Storm Pegasus 105RF, which houses the power of the 'Pegasus,' as his main beyblade. His special move is 'star poo attack'. He believes that the beyblader's power comes from the heart, of which Kenta, as well as Gingka's self-proclaimed 'apprentice', Sora seem to have become a believer, as well. He has flaming red, spiked hair, and wears a blue headband with his beyblade's insignia on it. He wears a bandage over his nose, and a white scarf (in a similar fashion to Kai from the original series). He has two sets of belt gear around his waist: one contains his beyblade and shooter, while the other contains his shooter grip and beypointer. Gingka also copied Beyblade burst the same voice actor as Brooklyn T.Guy the final boss and a member of BEGA in Beyblade: G Revolution.

Kenta Yumiya[edit]

Voiced by: Emiri Katō (Japanese); Lisette St. Louis (English)
A young beyblader doesn’t dreams of one day becoming a champion, Kenta possesses the beyblade Flame Sagittario, which possesses the power of 'Sagittarius'. He is a very short young boy, who has light green hair and possesses very few other noticeable features. Before he meets Gingka, he is initially afraid of the Face Hunters until Gingka soundly defeats them, telling him that the battle was decided by the blader's heart. His greatest goal now is to become as powerful a Beyblader as Gingka, though it has so far proven difficult for him. His Beyblade's attack is Sagittario Flame Claw. In the second part of the first season, Kenta qualifies for the Battle Bladers Tournament. Some time afterwards, he trains with Ryuga. During the battle with Nemesis, bringing him close to defeating Gingka in the tournament they entered. Ryuga loses against Nemesis, but before he passes away, he and L-Drago transfer their star fragment to Flame Sagittario, causing it to transform into Flash Sagittario.

If there are any problems in her friends' beys, she is always there for her friends, and she helps Gingka and Kenta with their battles. Not only them she helps many other bladers who become their friends. In Beyblade: Metal Masters, she becomes the supporting member of Team Gan-Gan Galaxy and travels to many countries with them. Tsubasa is a secret agent working for the World Beyblade Battle Association (WBBA). When he first meets Ginka, he saves him from an anonymous group of bladers with his bey, Earth Eagle. He qualifies for the Battle Bladers Tournament, where he gets his dark side from his battle with Ryuga, unfortunally ended up being crushed. Throughout the Metal masters series, he struggles with what seems to be his own devil, losing himself each time he tries resisting it, and becoming berserk. Thinking about nothing but winning and destroying he forgets everyone around him (including his friends). Ryuga later stops his midnight sudden battle with Julian Konzern, taking him for mentor about conquering his dark powers. After that, he grabs him back to his team (by force). Tsubasa later overcomes his dark powers by giving up himself to it. He is actually the third member of Team Gan-Gan Galaxy, ironically taking Kyoya's place after he quit the Japanese team. In the Metal Saga sequel, Beyblade Shogun Steel, he becomes the President of the WBBA, and with the help of the expert bey technician Madoka Amano they both invent the Zero-G stadium, which opens a new whole concept of beyblading. Gingka and Co. will have to stop a great evil from trying to revive the 'Black Sun'or 'Nemesis' by using the unknown power of the Star Fragment. Voiced by: Satomi Arai (Japanese); Amera Atiyeh (English)
He's a Legendary Blader, specifically a Solar System Blader, representing the planet Venus. His ancestor first appeared in a flashback in The Legend of Nemesis' Revival, but made his official appearance in the Metal Fury episode, The Lion Going Into the Wilderness and his Beyblade is Death Quetzalcoatl. He appears to be very short and wears a beige poncho with a green line and white circles and tassels around the bottom. On his poncho, he can use adjustable strings to tighten or loosen his collar to his favor. Tithi also wears a pair of beige boots, and tends to wear a Mesoamerican mask with headdress. Tithi has darkish brown skin and appears to wear the same headpiece as his ancestor who owned Death Quetzalcoatl originally. The head piece seems to have a little design on it that's similar to Gingka's Pegasus design in the Metal Fury series. He has light blue eyes, and bears yellow face paint under each of them.

While training for the events to come where the Beylin Fist would have their revenge, Aguma and Bao were struck by an ancient power known as the star fragment. This blessing would grant one of them the power of a Legendary Blader. In order to enact revenge, Bao began attacking other exiled bladers of the Beylin Temple and eventually entered the ToRyumon tag team tournament with Aguma. Bao and Aguma dominated the first round and moved on to the second where they revealed themselves to being descendants of the Beylin Fist to Dashan; Beylin Temples' Leader. Bao claimed that Beylin Fist would showcase their strength by winning the tournament. The two then watched as Dashan and Chi-yun of the Beylin Temple were ultimately defeated by the Legendary Bladers; Gingka Hagane and Yuki Mizusawa. Bao was disappointed in their defeat, being unable to defeat them himself but would look forward to battling a strong blader like Kyoya in the Semi-Final. A group of beybladers founded by Kyoya Tatagami, the team's leader, the Face Hunters' main goal is to steal and collect bey points from beybladers and use those points for their own purposes. They are the antagonists introduced in the new series.

Kyoya Tategami
Voiced by: Satoshi Hino (Japanese); Peter Cugno (English)
The former leader of the Face Hunters and the beyblader who possesses the power of 'Leo' in his beyblade, Rock Leone, he has greenish spiked wild hair and tiger-like eyes and teeth (a trait shared with the White Tigers in the first series). He wears a ripped shirt and pants. Kyoya has a muscular, tiger-like appearance and in Metal Fury, he has a noticeable six pack and is more muscular. Kyoya first thought little of Gingka, until he saw his beyblade skills in action, after which he becomes interested in battling him. Kyoya fights Gingka by stealing Kenta's Sagittario and forcing Gingka to battle him for it. They are unaware that the beystadium in which they fight is on top of a huge tower with great wind swirling around it. Kyoya uses this to his advantage, which gives his beyblade the edge as he utilizes the wind around them to greatly increase his defenses to the extent that even Gingka's attacks are having no effect on him. It isn't until Gingka figures out its weakness—that it can be defeated from above, as its center is more vulnerable than its sides—that he becomes victorious.
This shocking defeat leaves Kyoya and his group speechless. From this point, it becomes Kyoya's goal to defeat Gingka in battle. He is recruited temporarily by the Dark Nebula, and is sent off by Doji to Wolf Canyon. After Kyoya returns from his special training, he disbands the Face Hunters and challenges Gingka to a rematch, which he mercilessly attacks Gingka's bey. However, his overconfidence leads to his defeat. Kyoya thereafter becomes one of Gingka's friends and one of the main protagonists, though they still have a sort of rivalry between them. In the second part of the first season, he qualifies for the Battle Bladers Tournament and faces off against Ryuga, but is defeated. He reappears in Beyblade: Metal Masters, forming a team called Wild Fang to represent Africa in the Beyblade World Championships. In Beyblabe: Metal Fury, Kyoya is chosen by the Star Fragment and becomes a legendary blader with his Fang Leone to fight against Nemesis. Kyoya also shares the same voice actor as two characters from the original series; Lee Wong in seasons 1 and 3, and Kane Yamashita in season 2.
Benkei Hanawa
Voiced by: Kenta Miyake (Japanese); Jason Deline (English)
The so-called second-in-command of the Face Hunters, Benkei possesses the beyblade 'Dark Bull'. Benkei was given Dark Bull in Episode 4 by Doji, then he battled Gingka but lost. He is fat and provides unusual comic relief in the group, as every time he beyblades he is always hit directly between his legs, usually by a beyblade (his opponent's or his own). He first appears to be a bully. However, as time goes on, he reveals himself to be, in fact, a dedicated and kind person deep down. His true goal is to become a beyblader like Kyoya, because the first time they meet, he is soundly defeated by him. Since then, he has remained by his side. Benkei is a very crafty and resourceful person. He has known the Dark Wolf beyblade, surprising his opponent, who is surprised at his knowledge of it. Even Kyoya is unaware of whom he is up against.
Later, Benkei is given the Dark Bull beyblade and helps Kenta create his beyblade's attack. He becomes one of the main protagonists and also became friends with Gingka after the Face Hunters are disbanded. In the second part of the first season, he qualifies for the Battle Bladers Tournament, but loses to Kyoya in the second round. In Beyblade: Metal Masters, he joins Kyoya in Team Wild Fang, the African team and uses the guise of The Masked Bull. In Beyblade Shogun Steel, he becomes the owner of a fast-food restaurant.

Nile
Voiced by: Akio Suyama (Japanese); Shawn Korson (English)
Nile is a major part of Team Wild Fang and the second most powerful blader on the Team. Nile's blading skills are unmatched by those who were born and raised in his region of Africa. Nile is a very calm and cool-headed blader who knows how to wait and listen to his opponent, almost always giving him the win. He beat Masamune in their first battle against GanGanGalaxy. He also helped later, along with the rest of Wild Fang, to stop the Spiral Core.
Nile is a level-headed, cool, brave and an honest person. He is very timid and level-headed to where he only speaks for when the moment calls for it and hates when people speak out of term, or too much in general, hence his rivalry with the talkative Masamune Kadoya. He admires and is a good friend of Kyoya Tategami due to his great pride and bravery, qualities of which Nile shares. Though he is not arrogant, Nile is not above taunting his enemy if the situation calls for it and will do what is necessary to win, even if it goes above his pride. Nile is named after the Nile River in Egypt. Coincidentally his bey is Vulcan Horuseus, which is based off the Egyptian GodHorus.
Demure
Voiced by: Tsubasa Yonaga (Japanese); Jason Spisak (English)
Demure is the third official blader of Team Wild Fang. He was decided to be in the group by his fellow members Nile and Kyoya. After he was stripped of his wealth by Dr. Ziggurat, he was quick to blame Beyblade for his distress but was convinced by Dashan, Sophie and Wales to think otherwise. In Episode 47, Dashan challenges Julian to a battle because Team Wang Hu Zhong was eliminated from the World Championship in Episode 25, where Chi Yun was defeated by Klaus.
